Velvet Holiday Dress
I'll take online shopping over in-person shopping any day. I never try things on at the story anyway, so that's not usually a problem that I run into when it does come to online shopping.
When it comes to shopping online, I tend to stick to the same brands and the same 3 or 4 sites like Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Neiman's, so that I don't get overwhelmed with everything that the online shopping world has to offer.
The annoying thing about this though is that sometimes I just end up having so many tabs open and I wish I could just search all the sites from one place. That is until I found out about Octer.com.
Octer.com is seriously an awesome site for easy online shopping at your fave stores.
The way that Octer.com works is that it serves as a marketplace for major US retailers like Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdales, TJ Maxx, TopShop, and so many more.
Octer.com makes it super easy to shop because of the filtering tools, so you can shop by retailer, price, item of clothing, etc.
Think of it as the same way you would shop on your fave website, except you have the capabilities to be searching on ALL of your fave websites.
My velvet holiday dress is my first purchase on Octer.com.
It's also my first holiday dress purchase of the season in general! Velvet is seriously having a moment this year and what better way to jump into the velvet trend than a holiday dress.
With the beautiful decor that covers inside the home and all across the city, I love keeping the holiday outfits themselves simple.
That's why I knew that a simple black velvet dress would be the perfect holiday dress.
Instead of going to Nordstrom.com, Bloomingdales.com, etc. and individually searching for black velvet dress like I normally would, I went straight to Octer.com and typed in my search there and then filtered by price under $100.
That's when I came across this black velvet holiday dress for under $100 by TopShop at Nordstrom.com.
I'm obsessed with a long-sleeved dress in the winter and the neckline and the back added a femininity to it without sacrificing getting cold.
When I styled it, I wanted to keep the minimalistic look of the dress, but add some sort of contrast so these Banana Republic shoes from last year stood out to me the most. The two-toned look adds contrast, but the black and white keeps the look looking chic and simple.
