Transition to Spring
March brings us all hope that this cold weather will soon be behind us and that we'll forget about it long enough to start missing it again. This winter has especially been rough, even in Texas. As I'm writing this the temperature is slowly inching itself up to 60. So, in spirit of the warmer weather here are a four pieces that will transition you to spring during this "in-between weather."
1. The Crop Top: I must admit, last year at the first sign of the crop top trend I didn't think it would stick. I was wrong and am now on board. There are so many ways to wear a crop top without showing your belly button. Wear this Eight Sixty crop top with high waisted jeans or a high waisted skirt. Last week I threw it on over a printed mini dress. It's surprisingly versatile.
2. Basic Maxi: Maxi dresses scream spring and summer. It's not to early to find a basic one in a pop color that you can transform from day tonight depending on how you accessorize it. For this transitional period I think this Parker Bayou maxi would be cool with a leather jacket.
3. Floral Blazer: There's nothing like a cheerful print to get you in the mood for spring. I was feeling particulary inspired by the floral blazer when a friend asked me what she should wear to our friend's April wedding. I immediately thought a floral blazer could brighten up a solid dress she already owns. Lovers + Friends makes this cheerful blazer which is chicly styled with printed shorts and a t-shirt.
4. Nude Booties: It is time for our toes to breathe. What I love about the nude bootie is that you can wear it day or night and nude elongates the leg (major plus for us petite girls). These perforated Alice + Olivia booties are a no brainer for when it comes to updating the shoe closet for spring.
